TGOOD Modular 110kV prefabricated substation completed in harshest conditions on the planet.
TGOOD Global has completed a turnkey 110kV prefabricated substation in Kazakhstan during a freezing winter. TGOOD designed, manufactured, constructed and commissioned this 110kV substation of an 80MW solar farm within a record 5 months while being challenged with -50 degree temperatures.
This innovative substation solution was designed to ensure insulation properties and other operating requirements were met for a successful project outcome.
The project included:
- 110kV/20kV GIS modular substation solution
- Complete control, automation and DC systems
- 15 X 0.8kV/20kV 6.3MVA step-up prefabricated substations within the solar farm
- Complete design, manufacturer, civil work, installation and commissioning
This fast-tracked project was executed within 5 months from contract, including onsite commissioning. TGOOD’s prefabricated solution assisted in achieving this with onsite installation in Kazakhstan completed in less than 9 weeks.
Considering the harsh environment and frozen soil conditions onsite, TGOOD provided this two-level substation solution, which reduced the civil works scope by 50%. This reduced the overall footprint and complexity of the civil risks in the project.
