TGOOD supplied the medium voltage switchgear for Neoen’s Collie battery project
Early in 2025 TGOOD Australia completed the supply of medium voltage switchgear for one of Australia’s largest utility-scale battery energy storage projects—the Collie Battery in Western Australia, developed by Neoen and constructed by UGL.
We supplied over 150 TGOOD 33 kV ring main units (RMUs) with enclosures and SCADA integration for the project. The Collie Battery has a total storage capacity of 560 MW / 2,240 MWh, forming a significant part of Western Australia’s renewable energy infrastructure (source).
About the scope
TGOOD’s scope covered the design, manufacture and delivery of 33 kV secondary GIS switchgear units, housed in purpose-built weatherproof kiosks and integrated with site SCADA systems. The RMUs are deployed throughout the battery substation to manage medium voltage distribution across the site. Supply was completed in early 2025.
Working with UGL
UGL engaged TGOOD as a key equipment supplier for the project. UGL’s scope on the Collie Battery included design and construction of the 33/330 kV substation, installation of the battery storage units and associated balance of plant infrastructure.
TGOOD’s experience in utility-scale switchgear supply, combined with the ability to deliver consistent equipment quality across a large quantity of units to programme, made it a practical fit for a project of this scale.
